Sultan Marshes is a wetland area located 70 kilometers south of Kayseri, covering an area of 8-13 hectares, depending on the season. Develi-Yeşilhisar-Yahyalı It is within a triangle. To the north lies Mount Erciyes, the region's highest volcanic mountain. A large freshwater marsh forms at the foot of the mountain, largely covered with reeds. Reed, chaparral, and sedge are found here and there. Water lilies and irises are visible in clear weather. Towards the center of the field, there are numerous floating reed islands that are almost invisible. These are displaced by strong winds and sink with the ebb of the water. This freshwater complex is separated by Lake Yay in the south and north, a salty lake. In the northwest corner is Lake Çöl, which is connected to this lake. This lake contains a high amount of salt and is only a few decimeters deep. There is no vegetation in the surrounding area and it dries out in summer.
